Global Seed Vault Expedition

The Global Seed Vault is a secure backup facility for the world's crop diversity on the Norwegian island of Spitsbergen in the remote archipelago Svalbard of Svalbard, in The Arctic. It contains millions of heirloom, organic seed from more than 78 countries. It is the backup to humanities’ food supply. In 2018, the vault’s main stakeholder needed to raise funding. Myself and 2 friends (shoutout to Clinton & Joe!) created the first-ever public expedition to go up to and inside the vault itself. Attendees included: Martha Stewart, Sophia Bush, Minka Kelly, Prince Fahad al Saud and several dozen notable leaders from companies like: PepsiCo, Starbucks, Campbell's Soup and more. I personally handled all press coverage for that historic moment in time.

We were honored to be joined by world renowned National Geographic Photographer Michael Poliza. All photographs on this page are his.
